8 years after the historic international air meet, the Istres Air Base 125 reopens its doors to the public to showcase the fascinating world of military and civilian aviation during the last weekend of September 2024. A popular sell-out success This weekend was marked by celebrations, including the 90th anniversary of the French Air and Space Force, the 60th anniversary of the Strategic Air Forces, and the 80th anniversary of the liberation and landing in Provence. This major sold-out event attracted nearly 50,000 visitors over two days, offering everyone the opportunity to discover simulations and demonstrations of professions and equipment, static displays including the legendary A330 MRTT and Boeing KC-135, as well as the unmissable air show. Twice a day, all eyes turned to the sky to admire the aerial ballet. During this show, the public was able to discover many legendary aircraft such as the Rafale Solo Display, the A400M Tactical Display, the mythical Patrouille de France, the Requin Mike patrols (Rafale), as well as parachutists from the Phénix team and acrobats from the aerobatic team. Our directors, partners, and collaborators had the opportunity to enjoy front-row access to the runway thanks to our VIP chalet. This unique opportunity allowed them to enjoy the air show and meet emblematic figures from the world of aviation. JJGK Aero at the forefront Upon arrival at the site, visitors were able to directly discover the iconic Hangar Mercure and, at its heart, our activity. Florian Morata, technical painting office agent, Cameron Dremeau, B2 avionics technician, Orlane Bernadet, quality manager assistant, Hamza Amine, technical office agent, Patrick Jourdain, storekeeper, David Dagnet, HR manager, and Charlotte Pelletier, communication manager, were on hand to present JJGK Aero, their expertise, and their role within our teams. After a six-year absence the AD2S | Aerospace & Defence Support and Services trade show made its return on September 25, 26 & 27 2024, at Bordeaux-Mérignac Air Base 106. Born from a close collaboration between the Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, this key event for MCO/MRO stakeholders was the ideal opportunity for JJGK Aero to showcase its services and projects. JJGK Aero at the heart of strategic discussions During the event, Alexis Tierny, co-managing director and Charlotte Pelletier, communication manager, were present at our booth to welcome key figures from the aerospace sector and create valuable opportunities. Their presence helped strenghten our relationships with industry leaders, including Airbus, the French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), and the company Ixarys. These discussions provided an opportunity to explore strategic projects, identify synergies, and lay the groundwork for future collaborations. Three days marked by highlights The three-day event was punctuated by numerous conferences on Operational Condition Maintenance (MCO), covering various topics such as conflict dynamics, economy, innovation, sustainable development, employment, and training. On the evening of Thursday, September 26, we were invited to Château de Latresne – Aérocampus Aquitaine site for the AD2S Gala Night, where we had enriching encouters and enjoyed a friendly atmosphere with live music and local products. The final day of the trade show focused on employment, training, career opportunities in the aerospace and defense sectors. Alexis Tierny took the floor at the Agora to share his professionnal journey and discuss career development opportunities for aerospace boilermakers. This was also a great occasion to welcome motivated students who discovered our MRO center dedicated to the Super Puma range and our job opportunities. After three days at AD2S, it was time for us to head back and get ready to welcome visitors for the Open House Weekend at Istres Air Base 125.
We are happy to announce our partnership renewal with Istres Provence Handball for the second year in a row ! Founded in the 70s, the Istres Handball Club now welcomes young and old alike. From amateur to professional level, the club has opened a training center and stands out for its commitment and development. Marked by the team presentation evening and a victory for the first match of the season against the team from US Ivry Handball, it’s a successful season’s kick-off for the bulls.
This week and as it has been for the past 2 years now, JJGK Aero was present at the Nuits d’Istres 2024. Initiated in the early 90s under the name Les Estivales d’Istres, it has now been 31 years since the festival has been bringing the city to life during the summer. It is at the Pavillon de Grignan, a site listed as a Historic Monument, where the magic happens between the artists and their audience. This year, Pierre de Maere, Zaho de Sagazan, Véronique Sanson and Claudio Capéo gave intimate concerts. For us, it is a way to show our support to the city of Istres as a partner and also to offer to our employees tickets for the festivities.
This first Friday of June, and as it has been the case for the past three years, we were at the forum of the Centre d’excellence POLYAÉRO in Tallard. Polyaero is a center of excellence for aeronautical training, offering a BTS in Aeronautics, a professional degree, a university technology bachelor’s degree, a master’s in digital aeronautical project management, and TMF training. This jobdating event was a privileged moment to meet the young professionals of tomorrow and to recruit talented apprentices and graduates. Florian Morata, a BT paint agent and former Polyaero graduate, and Charlotte Pelletier, the communications manager, took on the role of recruiters with great enthusiasm. A big thank you to POLYAÉRO, the IUT of Aix-Marseille, and Greta CFA Provence Industrie Aéronautique Alpes Provence for organizing this event.
JJGK Aero is soaring towards new opportunities with an exciting new approval! We are thrilled to share that we have obtained the FAA FAR Approval (JJGY428E). Yesterday, JJGK-AERO represented by Alexis Tierny, Managing Director, and Charlotte Pelletier, Communications Manager, were at the Pierre Mendes France Highschool in Vitrolles. An important day for all the stakeholders of the helicopter industry in the region. This time, it was with the Lycée des Métiers de l’aéronautique Pierre Mendes France that Airbus signed a partnership agreement. An essential collaboration aimed at enhancing the attractiveness of the noble professions in the aerospace industry and meeting the growing needs for ressources and skills.
This morning JJGK-AERO was at the Pôle Formation UIMM SUD. A visit that has a double stake for the regional helicopter industry. We first witnessed the signing of an innovative partnership between the Pôle Formation UIMM SUD and Airbus. A strategic agreement that strengthens ties and contribute to the transformation of the regional helicopter industry. Then we had the chance to inaugurate the new aeronautical mechanics training area which was made possible thanks to the “RotorSkills” Future Investissment Program. This state-of-the-art facility demonstrates the commitment of the region’s players to the training and development of talents in the aerospace field.
